We are in the final construction phase of a new state-of-the-art Pilot Manufacturing facility in Vancouver which encompasses isolator-based manufacturing and a fully-integrated SCADA system.

As a key member of our Manufacturing department, you will be responsible for the development and design of processes and equipment for use in clinical and commercial manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

Specifically, you will:

  • design/implement new methodologies, materials, equipment, processes or products for pharmaceutical manufacturing;
  • develop new manufacturing concepts from initial design to validation;
  • work closely with designated research institutions, manufacturers and vendors managing the involvement of new process equipment and/or unit operations to meet identified project needs;
  • support validation efforts on new equipment/processes;
  • keep abreast of new/emerging technologies in API, excipient or drug product manufacturing;
  • assist in managing the evaluation of new technologies, potential engineering services and vendors;
  • conduct feasibility studies on new process equipment, technologies or facilities to determine their ability to meet requirements;
  • represent process engineering and/or process development on multidisciplinary project teams.

You bring to this role:

  • a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline and 3 - 5 years' relevant experience;
  • a working knowledge of cGMP and applicable engineering standards;
  • conversant with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment design and operation;
  • an understanding of industrial control systems from plant floor to SCADA and DCS;
  • the ability to coordinate capital projects and facilitate technical issues with internal/external parties;
  • good organizational, technical, communication and presentation skills;
  • the capability to resolve technical issues.
