Contract Manufacturing Manager

Dendreon Corporation, based in Seattle, WA is a publicly held biotechnology company developing therapeutic vaccines, monoclonal antibodies and small molecule candidates for the treatment of cancer and other diseases.

We are seeking a Contract Manufacturing Manager to work in our Manufacturing Group. This person will be based in Morrisville, NC, and will primarily serve as the company representative who will participate in the technology transfer process through to commercial manufacturing at contract manufacturing organization (CMO). This is a critical position and will allow for considerable personal and professional growth as Dendreon establishes itself as an industry leader. Responsibilities include the day-to-day coordination of contract manufacturing activities, communication of Dendreon’s manufacturing best practices and oversight of manufacturing process consistency.

Strong candidates will hold a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or Biology/Biochemistry with at least 5 years pilot or large-scale experience in a process development or manufacturing technical support role as well as a minimum of 2 years in a project management capacity. Also required is solid experience in the transfer of highly complex systems and technical manufacturing to external manufacturing facilities or contractors and large-scale protein purification and engineering fundamentals.
