If you are an experienced Paralegal or Legal Administrator with experience in patents and are interested in working with a fast growing company within the Biotech industry that is building a strong pipeline of pharmaceutical products, then consider this opportunity with ICOS Corporation.

Responsibilities:

This role will be to support the Patent and Intellectual Property Law Group with:

  • Drafting and negotiating confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, assignments, consulting agreements, and other intellectual property and technology transfer agreements.
  • Managing internal queries regarding such agreements.
  • Developing and revising agreement templates.
  • Maintaining and monitoring agreement files and database.
  • Liaising with Finance department regarding payments for outside collaborators.
  • Managing microfilming of all executed agreements.
  • Managing and maintaining patent files and patent correspondence.
  • Managing and maintaining docketing database for patent matters.
  • Supporting patent attorney(s) in general administrative duties such as faxing, filing, and drafting cover letters, and other documents without supervision.

Requirements

  • Experience in a legal setting, preferably specializing in patents and other intellectual property issues.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, and other form agreements is highly desirable.
  • Experience in managing administrative tasks associated with maintaining a patent estate.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Capacities to work independently, think creatively, and pay careful attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and act independently with minimal direction.
  • Possessing a sound working knowledge of legal, medical, biotechnical and scientific terminology is an advantage.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who remains flexible as projects and priorities change.

No relocation can be provided for this position.
