Research Associate, Target Validation

ICOS Corporation, based in the Seattle, Washington area, is committed to advancing science in the areas of protein based and small molecule therapeutics with a world-class research and development organization. Our lead product Cialis® (tadalifil) for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) has received US FDA approval and is currently sold in over 50 countries.

If you are a Research Associate interested in working with a fast growing company that is building a strong pipeline of pharmaceutical products in multiple stages of development, then consider this opportunity with ICOS Corporation

Responsibilities:

  • Performing biochemical and cell-based assay development, validation and implementation.
  • Testing of proteins and small molecules in cell-based and biochemical assays.
  • Cloning and protein expression in mammalian systems.
  • Establishment and characterization of mammalian stably transfected cell lines.
  • Mammalian cell line culture.
  • Flow cytometry analysis.
  • Protein characterization (SDS PAGE, western, ELISA, etc.).
  • Data analysis and interpretation.
  • Collaborating with and communicating data to several groups.

Requirements

  • BS or MS (preferred) plus a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Competency in development and validation of cell-based assays.
  • Experience with DNA and RNA molecular biology techniques (PCR, restriction digests, cloning, rt-PCR, etc.).
  • Excellent sterile technique.
  • Working knowledge of Immunology a plus.
  • Previous experience in flow cytometry analysis.
  • Strong collaborative skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High degree of creativity and problem solving capability.
