Research Associate, Preclinical in Vivo Studies

Seattle Genetics, Inc. is a new and growing biotechnology company based in Bothell, Washington.The Company is in clinical and preclinical development with several targeted agents for the treatment of carcinomas, melanomas, and hematologic malignancies. Seattle Genetics also has an active drug discovery effort.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated individual experienced with rodent models of cancer and immunologic diseases for the evaluation of novel therapeutic proteins. This position will play a key role in supporting the pharmacology, toxicity and pharmacokinetic evaluation of Research and Development programs. The candidate will be required to perform small animal handling, injections, blood sampling, tumor measurements, and minor surgeries. Additional responsibilities will include maintenance of tissue culture cell lines, test sample preparation and handling, and data collection and analysis.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and 3+ years experience working with small laboratory animals are required. Additional experience with in vitro techniques – flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, etc. – is a plus. The successful candidate will be required to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team setting. Excellent team skills, and strong oral and written communication skills are required.
