Senior Research Associate (Assay Development)

Dendreon Corporation is a publicly held biotechnology company developing therapeutic vaccines, monoclonal antibodies and small molecule candidates for the treatment of cancer and other diseases.

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research (Assay Development) Associate to join Vaccine Development to play a role in assay development to support cancer vaccine development.

Description:

  • Develop, optimize and qualify biological assays for raw materials and final vaccine products.
  • Interface with QC scientists and analysts to implement assays in QC for product release.
  • Interact with vaccine development associates and scientists to support product and process characterization.
  • Prepare technical documents such as technical reports, SOPs and other relevant documents.

Requirements:

  • A 5-8 year working experience with BS degree or 2-5 year working experience with MS degree in biological science.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in developing and optimizing biological assay using molecular and cellular biological techniques such as cell culture, Flow Cytometery, ELISA, SDS-Page, and PCR.
  • Experience with cell-based assay is a plus.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision to meet project timelines.
  • Must be able to follow SOPs accordingly and maintain clear notebook record.
  • Excellent organization and communication skill in oral and written technical presentation.
  • Proficient in document processing software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and graphic software.
  • May provide supervision to junior associates and interns.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • This job is primarily performed in laboratories with potential exposure to hazardous chemical and biohazardous products that requires proper compliance in handling and usage.
  • Physical requirements include ability to operate numerous electrical and mechanical tools and equipment, and to work at lab benches for a long period time with frequent opportunity to move to other location within building.
  • Requires the ability to operate a personal computer and to work at a desk frequently.
