Scientist, Process Development

Seattle Genetics, Inc. is a new and growing biotechnology company based in Bothell, Washington.The Company is in clinical and preclinical development with several targeted agents for the treatment of carcinomas, melanomas, and hematologic malignancies. Seattle Genetics also has an active drug discovery effort.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Seattle Genetics seeks an experienced process scientist to join our team focused on development of antibody-drug conjugates. This position involves optimizing the conjugation of small molecule to antibodies, optimization of purification methods, process scale-up, and tech transfer to contract manufacturers. Interaction with other scientific groups, including chemistry, bioprocess development, biochemistry, and analytical chemistry is essential.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry or engineering with 3+ years experience in biotech or the pharmaceutical industry. A demonstrated expertise in protein chemistry, purification, and structural analysis, along with good written and oral communication skills are essential. Expertise in protein formulation is a plus. Must have a proven track record showing innovation, analytical thinking, and an ability to multi-task. Experience with external partners or contract manufacturing organizations is a plus.
