Research Associate, Pre-clinical Research

Responsibilities:

This position will be part of a focused effort to evaluate lead compound candidates for their in vivo effects and efficacy in the fields of kidney fibrosis and airway inflammation.

  • Individual will work closely with other scientists in the Preclinical Studies department in the design, planning and execution of appropriate in vivo studies related to kidney fibrosis and inflammation.
  • This position will play an active role in the implementation and validation of novel in vivo models.
  • Other duties include processing, interpreting and presenting of results to project teams.
  • Staying abreast of relevant literature and proficiency with literature searches and standard word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software is expected.

Requirements:

  • BS in pharmacology/zoology/physiology with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of and hands on experience with in vivo models for human diseases is required.
  • Experience with (kidney) fibrosis and asthma is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic principles also a plus.
  • As a member working on highly interactive and dynamic project teams, strong communication (oral and written) and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently in a high paced working environment.
  • Creativity, detail-oriented, and self motivation are desired.
  • Some flexibility with respect to performing duties after regular working hours or on weekends/holidays required.
