Apheresis Specialist

Job Description:

Dendreon Corporation is seeking an Apheresis trained specialist. This individual will work closely with the department manager to oversee Dendreon apheresis supply chain.

Major responsibilities include:

  1. Investigate of reported problems with incoming apheresis products.
  2. Provide problem solving support to collection centers.
  3. Contact and or visit collection centers routinely to ensure consistency in collection procedure and quality of the apheresis products.
  4. Responsible for communicating changes affecting the apheresis cell products to collection centers through SOP revision, verbal communication and in person observation of procedure process to ensure compliance.
  5. Participate in apheresis site inspection, training and monitoring.
  6. Assemble and maintain documentation files for apheresis sites.
  7. Gather, review and check for accuracy of collection data.
  8. Maintain the apheresis collection database.
  9. Assist manager to identify and select apheresis collection centers to support new and on going clinical trials and commercialization of Dendreon product line.
  10. Assist manager to develop qualification requirements and procedure for collection centers.

Requirements:

  1. College degree in a scientific discipline, such as RN or MT, with at least 4 years of apheresis experience focusing on MNC or stem cell collection using both the MNC and AutoPBSC programs of the Cobe Spectra Apheresis System.
  2. HP certification and or research experience preferred.
  3. Familiar with MNC collections on the Fenwall Baxter CS 3000+ and Fenwall Amicus Separator is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of basic FDA regulations and standards pertaining to blood products.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skill.
  7. Flexible, able to work independently and in a team environment.
  8. PC skills include Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel.

Work Condition:

Physical environment include ability to travel to apheresis collection sites at various locations through out the US, able to operate automated office equipments and sit at desk for long periods of time.
