Project Manager

Reporting to: Director, Project Management

Job Summary:

The Project Manager monitors and coordinates the goals, objectives and timelines for drug development program(s) aimed at shortening development time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • With the input and participation of appropriate Project Team members prepare timelines for assigned projects.
  • Establish project related departmental objectives to reach a fixed goal such as filing an IND or NDA.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the written project plan with input from project team and management.
  • Ensure milestones encompass the technical, quality and regulatory criteria.
  • Track and manage project progress on timelines, milestones and goals by maintaining and updating Master Gantt Charts for the project.
  • Manage and facilitate Project Team meetings, interactions, and communications in coordination with Project Team Leader and/or functional management.
  • Advocate cross-functional coordination and communication in project teams, by setting criteria, establishing meeting dates and identifying agenda for discussion.
  • Ensure each participant of the project understands the project, their role and the deadlines required for their contribution. Ensure by documenting participation in the project.
  • Participate in designing, improving, and implementing elements of Project Management process and systems.
  • Identify barriers to the project timeline, (i.e. People and resources) and communicate to Director, Project Management to ensure barriers are removed.
  • As part of the management team, is responsible for monitoring, addressing, and appropriately reporting health and safety concerns, for areas under direct supervision, as well as other areas of the company, in order to ensure compliance with AnorMED safety policies and procedures and WCB Regulations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Basic GMP, GLP, GCP knowledge essential.
  • MSc degree and 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries absolutely required.
  • Expertise in one or more functional areas related pharmaceutical development, including (but not limited to) Chemistry, Clinical, Pharmaceutics, Analytical Development, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, or Production, experience serving on project teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (and demonstrated as a skill) are essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Prior project management experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
