LOCATION: Woodinville, WA

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: Provide administrative and Buying support to the Purchasing team. Input Purchase Orders into JDE; maintain purchasing department files, manage filing of Specifications in appropriate binders and return of obsolete specifications to Document Control; maintain minority business documentation on all Bio-Rad suppliers in support of government contract requirements; vacation coverage for other Buyers; other assignments as required to support the Purchasing Department needs. Negotiate, place, and enter indirect (non-inventory) purchase orders; may lead to direct (inventory) purchasing as assigned; follow up with vendors to assure satisfactory supplier delivery performance; bid and place AFE capital equipment orders; responsible for our Lab Supply inventory orders, safety stocks, annual negotiation of pricing, and returns of inactive product; responsible for Blanket Orders – bidding, ordering, maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree. Coursework towards CPM and /or CPIM certification is preferred. Proficiency with personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing software. Proven ability to communicate effectively with positive people skills. Requires good organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and suppliers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PREFERENCE: Buying or related experience in a research and manufacturing environment and experience with Purchasing and Materials software systems.
