Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Bioanalytical Chemistry

Ikaria is dedicated to the development and commercialization of new products based on reversible metabolic control for its use as a treatment for acute trauma, during surgery and extending the length of time that organs and tissues are viable for transplantation.

Description:

We are seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join our Preclinical Biology Group. The successful candidate will be a skilled and enthusiastic Bioanalytical Chemist or Biochemist to support our lead projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement analytical methods for Ikaria’s metabolic regulators and their metabolites in formulations and biological samples.
  2. Implement assays for biomarkers.
  3. Prepare parenteral formulations and conduct stability studies.

Requirements:

  1. MS in analytical chemistry, analytical biochemistry or similar plus a minimum of three (3) years experience in pharma and/or biotechnology in bioanalytical chemistry or a BS with a minimum of five (5) years experience.
  2. Solid working knowledge of HPLC, spectroscopic and fluorescent detection methods, and metabolite extraction from biological materials.
  3. Experience with LC/MS, derivatization techniques for small molecules, enzyme kinetics and receptor binding assays, and drug metabolism assays a plus.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work in a team.
  7. Proficiency with relevant software packages.
