Cell Culture Fermentation Bioprocessing Associate

Responsibilities:

Perform the following manufacturing operations according to GMP requirements and ICOS approved procedures:

  • Preparation of media and buffers.
  • Cleaning, assembly, disassembly, and operation of equipment.
  • Bioprocessing operations such as cell expansion, bioreactor cell culture/fermentation, and harvest/primary recovery.
  • Routine preventive maintenance and environmental monitoring.
  • New product and process introductions into Manufacturing.
  • Validation including equipment IQ/OQ/PQ and process validation.
  • Complete required processing documentation including batch production records, discrepancy reports, planned deviations, product change over, etc.
  • Identify, create and revise GMP documentation as required, including batch records and standard operating procedures.
  • Working evening or weekend shifts may be required.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in biopharmaceutical operations experience in either Manufacturing or Process Development.
  • Experience in manufacturing clinical trial material preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in a science related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Algebraic math skills and computer aptitude.
  • Expertise in assembling, disassembling, operating and understanding complex equipment and processes.
  • Experience with typical cell culture/fermentation and recovery processes, including shake flask expansion, spinner flask and/or wave bag expansion, large scale bioreactor production (1200+ liter working volume), depth filtration, tangential flow filtration, centrifugation, cell disruption, and micro-filtration.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment with proper aseptic technique.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete assignments that are complex in nature.
  • Detail- oriented with the ability to complete written and verbally assigned tasks following specific procedures.
  • Ability to interact constructively with peers and support groups.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written forms.
