Quality Control Manager

Xcyte Therapies, Inc., a Seattle-based biotechnology company, is developing and commercializing novel cell-based or cellular therapeutic products that harness the power of the immune system to treat cancer and many infectious diseases.

This individual has the primary responsibility of ensuring that the Quality Control laboratories meet cGMP/GLP standards. This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in Quality Control in the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry. Practical working knowledge of FDA, cGMP, GLP, Quality Systems, EC, and ISO standards and regulations is required. Fundamental knowledge of antibody characterization and/or cell processing is also desired.

Candidates with in-depth experience in microbiological methods, including environmental monitoring, sterility testing and culture maintenance will be given first consideration. In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, experience with the direct supervision of others, the ability to be highly self-directed and highly interactive, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
